3 Fun Summer Spots in and Around Clark County

The sun is finally out in the Pacific Northwest, and around here, that’s basically a signal to get outside. The nice weather doesn’t last forever, so we make the most of it while we can. A few spots have become our favorites over the years, the ones we keep going back to all summer.

Explore three of them in and around Clark County.

1. Lacamas Lake in Camas is one of our favorites. It sits right in the forest, with Round Lake connected just to the south, and there’s a little of everything to do. You can rent a paddleboard, take a kayak out, or just walk the trails along the water. We love going after work or on the weekend. It’s so beautiful, and there’s something about seeing everyone out on the lake having fun, a little country music playing, that just makes it feel like summer.

2. The Cove is our pick when we want to be on the water with good food. We have a bit of a theme going; we gravitate toward water, and the Columbia River is gorgeous. The Cove sits right on it, with a great patio, great food, and a great happy hour. When the weather’s nice, it’s one of the first places we want to go.

3. The Vancouver Waterfront might be our favorite of all. It has completely transformed Vancouver. Honestly, we hardly ever go to Portland anymore, and a lot of people from Oregon are coming to see it. You can walk along the river, grab ice cream at Salt & Straw, have dinner, and watch the sunset. It’s always lively, and it’s a great way to spend a weekend.
